FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Direct answers on vetting, pricing, contracts, replacement and how the matching actually works.
Common questions cover vetting depth, rates, contract terms, replacement policy and time-zone coverage. In short: five published vetting stages, rates from sixty to one hundred and eighty dollars per hour, two weeks notice after a paid trial, and free re-matching if a placement fails.
Still have a question?
These answers cover what people ask most often before hiring. If yours is not here, the fastest route is the contact page — questions reach Muhammad Usman Akbar directly rather than a support queue.
For role-specific questions, each role page carries its own FAQ covering what that role does, how to assess it and what it costs. The comparison pages answer questions about how we differ from other platforms, including where those platforms are the better choice.
Frequently asked questions
How long does it take to get a shortlist?
Typically two business days from a complete brief. Briefs that omit budget or time-zone requirements take longer, because those are scored components and we will ask before running the match rather than guess.
What is your replacement policy?
If a placement is not working, tell us during or shortly after the paid trial and we re-match at no additional platform fee. We treat a bad match as a failure of our matching and vetting rather than a normal cost of doing business.
Do engineers work through your contracts or ours?
Either. Most clients use our contracting and invoicing, which handles cross-border payment. If your legal team requires your own paper, that is supported; it usually adds a few days before the engagement can start.
Can I hire an engineer permanently after a contract?
Yes, where local employment arrangements allow it. Contract-to-hire conversions are handled with a conversion fee agreed upfront rather than discovered later in the terms.
What time zones can you cover?
Any, though overlap requirements narrow supply. Time-zone overlap is a scored component of the matching engine, weighted at ten percent, so you can see exactly how each candidate ranked on it.
Is the matching done by AI?
Partly. A language model reads your brief and converts it into a structured query. The ranking itself is deterministic code with published weights, so the same brief always returns the same shortlist. Models parse; they do not rank.
Do you work with startups or only enterprises?
Both. Startups usually hire one or two engineers against a specific brief; enterprises more often need Forward Deployed Engineering or compliance-driven work. The process is the same and there is no minimum company size.
What if I need a role you do not list?
Send the brief anyway. The fourteen listed roles are the ones we have enough vetted depth in to describe honestly. If we cannot cover a request well we will say so rather than stretching a nearby role to fit.
